Where Hospitality Feels at Home
Our story began in 1952, when Marlis and Erich Goebel built the “Haus Sonn´schein” on the banks of the Moselle in Conder Uferstraße with dedication, hard work and passion. What started as a small wine tavern serving their own wines gradually developed into a café, then a restaurant, and eventually a hotel.

Their three children grew up surrounded by the family business and experienced from an early age what genuine hospitality truly means. This passion for hospitality has been passed down from one generation to the next ever since.

A New Home on the Rosenhügel
In 1976, Marlis and Erich opened what is now known as Hotel “Am Rosenhügel”. The hotel takes its name from the “Conder Rosenberg” vineyard site. Over the years, the house has been continuously developed and enhanced, always with a keen sense of our guests’ wishes and a strong connection to its unique location on the Moselle.

From 2001 onwards, sisters Marie-Luise and Hildegard ran the hotel together. Their father, Erich, remained closely connected to the hotel well into his later years. Even at the age of 94, he still personally welcomed guests to breakfast.

In 2018, we had to say farewell to the founder of our hotel. Erich Goebel passed away on January 30 at the age of 96. On February 20, 2023, his wife and co-founder, Marlis Goebel, also passed away. Both left a lasting mark on our hotel and our family and will always be remembered with gratitude.

A Tradition That Lives On
Today, the hotel is run as Flair Hotel am Rosenhügel by Hildegard Rupp and her daughter, Monika Neyer. Monika, too, has turned her passion into a profession. After completing her training as a chef, she gained valuable experience at renowned hotels both in Germany and abroad before returning to the family business.

In this way, the hotel remains in family hands, and the tradition established by Marlis and Erich Goebel is now being continued with great dedication and warmth into its third generation.
