Folk festivals framed by the beautiful Moselle landscape


In Cochem and the many vine-producing villages nearby, there are folk festivals, traditional markets and wine festivals all year around.

Below you will find a short overview of the most popular events.


Saturday and Sunday, March 17th and 18th 2018 - Ostermarkt (Easter market – Car exhibition)

Two weeks before Easter the traditional Easter market takes place in Cochem. Local car-traders present a car-exhibition and on Sunday the shops in the town centre are open.

Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th 2018 - Blütenmarkt des MoselWeinbergPfirsich (Moselle Vineyard Peach Blossom market)

Annually in April, when the peaches bloom, the Moselle Vineyard Peach Blossom market takes place. On the Endertplatz you can try many delicacies made from the Moselle-typical fruit.

Saturday and Sunday May 5th and 6th 2018 - Cochemer Kunst-und Handwerkermarkt (Cochem Art and Handcraft market)

Experience craftsmanship first-hand. Travel back in time to the middle ages and be excited by shows and presentations of traditional handcraft.

Wednesday to Sunday, Mai 30th to June 03rd 2018 - Mosel-Wein-Woche (Moselle-Wine-Week)

The springtime wine festival in Cochem. Twelve local wine-growers present their classy Riesling wines and refreshing sparkling wines. Bands and show orchestras present everything entertainment music has to offer.

Friday to Sunday, June 22nd to 24th 2018 - Cochemer Weinlagenfest (Cochem vineyard festival)

Experience the “Wingert” in a different way. Right next to our hotel, in the middle of the vineyards you can try wine and other delicacies. There will be live music every day.

Saturday and Sunday, August 4th and 5th 2018 - Burgfest (Castle Festival at the Reichsburg Cochem)

On the first weekend of August the traditional “Burgfest” takes place. Travel back to the time of knights, jugglers and minnesingers while visiting the Reichsburg.

Thursday to Monday, August 23th to 27th 2018 - “Heimat-und Weinfest” (Region- and Wine-festival)

The last weekend of August Cochem offers our guests one of the biggest and most beautiful wine festivals of the Moselle-region. On the many market stalls, you can try the great variety of Moselle-wine and different foods. Bands and show orchestras provide entertainment music every day. The highlights of the “Heimat- und Weinfest” are the pageant, starting on Sunday at 2pm in Cond and the brilliant firework at 10pm, fired from the Reichsburg and the Moselle. The festival fades out with the “Cochemer Abend” on Monday.

Friday to Sunday, September 7th to 9th 2018 - 54th “Sehler Quetschenfest”

Annually, the “Quetschenfest” in Sehl (a part of Cochem) is held on the second weekend of September. There is live-music every evening and a colourful pageant on Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday, September 15th and 16th 2018 - Harvest festival of the Moselle Vineyard Peach

Try the many different delicacies made of the Moselle Vineyard Peach, for example liqueurs, schnapps, jams, spreads, ice cream or waffles.

November 2rd to 4th and 9th to 11th 2018 - “Federweißenfest”

On the first two weekends of October you can try the new “Federweißen” and of course the traditional “Zwiebelkuchen” (onion tart) in a pavilion on the Endertplatz.

Friday, November 23th to Sunday, December 16th 2018 - “SternZauber” in Cochem

Festively decorated and illuminated wooden stalls on the Endertplatz and the Carl-Fritz-Nicolay-Platz as well as a heated pavilion invite to Cochem’s Christmas market. Try different culinary delicacies, and enjoy atmospheric concerts. Of course, there is entertainment for children, too.

Saturday and Sunday, December 15th and 16th 2018 - “Cochemer Burgweihnacht” on the Reichsburg

On the 3 weekend of Advent there is a Christmas market on the Reichsburg. A special highlight of the market is a “living” nativity play where actors perform with real animals while walking through the inner wards of the castle.
